In Switzerland as well as in many other countries, there is a differentiates between prescription and non-prescription drugs. For a prescription drug you need a prescription from your doctor.

Approximately one third of the drugs offered in Switzerland need a prescription. The basic insurance reimburses 90% of these costs.

Thereafter, the pharmacy will charge the amount of the insurance and the insurance will require the deductible of 10% of you.
